MP3 Quality Modifier

This application does precisely what its name suggests: it takes the MP3 files you select, processes them, and changes their quality based on your specifications. Why would you want to do that? The simple answer is this: to save space. By changing an MP3's quality, you reduce the amount of space it takes up on your hard drive or other storage device. While testing the application, I saw how an 8MP file shrunk down to just 2MB.

To get started with MP3 Quality Modifier you won’t have to go through any installation process. All you have to do is download an archive, extract its contents, and run the MP3 Quality Modifier executable. So if you are constantly on the go, put MP3 Quality Modifier on a USB stick and take it with you. The fact that it does not have to be installed makes it portable.

At the top of the application’s interface, there’s a toolbar with buttons for adding files, adding folders, removing files, and starting the quality modification process. Underneath there’s a panel that lists all the MP3s you loaded into the application. And down at the bottom there’s a panel that presents the parameters the application will use to process the MP3s.

Using MP3 Quality Modifier is a very simple 3-step process:
Step 1 – select the files you want to use. You can use the Add Files button, the Add Folder button, or just simply drag and drop MP3 files onto the application.
Step 2 – set up the parameters the application will use. You can choose one of several presets, you can manually specify how to process the MP3s, and you can specify where the resulting MP3s will be saved.
Step 3 – click on Process and let the application do its thing. It will take the loaded MP3s and modify them based on the settings you specify. Once MP3 Quality Modifier is done with its job, it will display a Summary window that shows you just how much the MP3s you loaded shrunk in size.
